Does laser printer toner go bad?

I don't print very often and I find myself always relacing the ink cartridge in my printer. Because of this, I'm considering paying more money for a laser printer in the hopes that I'll save money in the long run by not buying ink that just dries up. Since toner is a dust will it ever go bad? Oftentimes I may go a month w/o printing anything.Does laser printer toner go bad?
Hi

Laser toner doesn't go bad. Its like you are telling me that all those pre-made cartrdiges sitting in a warehouse will die soon.

What happens is that the toner may set a little. What you do is open the printer, remove the cartridge and rock the cartridge side to side. Now place it back in and the printer will print super crisp. Old tricks LOL.

Now, if you have a deskjet. YES, the ink may dry or the nozzles get clogged. With laser, the toner does not go bad even if you print once every 3 months LOL.Does laser printer toner go bad?
agreed, they don't go bad, because they are a powdered base product. They can clump considering certain climate conditions, however, a shaking motion should break them up and be able to run smoothly.
I am currently using toner that I bought twelve years ago and it works just as well as when it was new. I don't know if all toner lasts this long but it is much better than ink cartridges.
after about 4 or 5 years the cartridge may get a little funky and begin to place dots where dots should not be placed.
no, not for a month, if you leave it for years maybe
